Nevada’s Students and Educators Gain Innovative Pathway2Careers Program
Maryville, TN – November 8, 2022 – The Nevada Department of Education (NDE) fully invests in its students. This is evident as news of a new partnership between Pathway2Careers and NDE is made public today. According to Pathway2Careers founder and company CEO Dr. Joseph L. Goins, “Nevada is investing in their students’ futures. NDE reviewed everything we have created, and they want to implement it fully; it is very exciting as we have the opportunity to aid Nevada’s students. Middle school and high school students are gaining access to the P2C career-connected mathematics curricula and localized labor market data that can prepare them for what we define as high-value careers.” Dr. Goins continued, “Additionally, they are acquiring P2C career exploration tools, custom Labor Market Navigator tools, and Career Exploration Curriculum that can be integrated into core courses, and the educators will receive first-rate professional learning, technical assistance, and program training.”
As NDE Education Programs Director for the Office of Career Readiness, Adult Learning, and Education Options, Craig Statucki is fully vested in the career-connected learning model. “NDE was looking for a way to facilitate career readiness with significant impact for all students in the Nevada public education system; Pathway2Careers was the solution,” explained Statucki.
As Nevada’s Department of Education invests in the Pathway2Careers Program, it is apparent that the American education system is on the cusp of a career-connected learning revolution. Members of NDE recognized their students’ needs and the promise of career-connected learning for all students. They reached out to Pathway2Careers after researching the impact Pathway2Careers’s career readiness solutions have had statewide in supporting New Mexico’s students, as is evident by the NMPED-supported Careers2Communities initiative.
They were also interested by custom work in data research and professional learning, technical assistance, and coaching conducted by Pathway2Careers supporting educators and students in Massachusetts, Nebraska, New York, and Pathway2Careers’s home state of Tennessee.
As Pathway2Careers’s New Mexico clients will tell you, the education technology company started as a leader in partnership building. Pathway2Careers’s P2C Program grew from region-specific labor market research, custom Perkins V Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) reports, and productive meetings between local educators, businesses, non-profit organizations, and community stakeholders. Through data-driven research and partnership building, Dr. Goins, a former Tennessee math and vocational teacher, and his team would go on to develop a fully custom, standards-aligned, career-connected mathematics curriculum and more.

Pathway2Careers’s Pathway2Careers is a holistic, innovative, career-connected program with a custom platform. The P2C Math Curriculum provides complete curricula for pre-algebra, algebra I & II, and geometry with embedded career-connected learning. This career-focused math helps bridge gaps between education and industry to support all learners by achieving effective career-connected learning and assisting the students in identifying and working towards their career goals. Additionally, the P2C Career Exploration Curriculum provides an innovative platform with various tech tools, including the Labor Market Navigator, and additional lessons for grades 6 – 12, supporting guided career exploration, cultivating career awareness (by high-lighting high-value careers and authentic career story interviews), and facilitating career readiness.
