As P2C’s Career and Technical Education Instructional Framework Designer, Davina Reid, leads the creation and refinement of instructional frameworks for CTE programs. These frameworks are utilized by the state’s Public Education Department to guide instruction for students in CTE programs. Davina collaborates with educators, employers, and industry experts to develop curriculum that meets labor market demands, integrates employability skills, and supports the student’s attainment of industry-recognized credentials.  Davina has a passion for Career and Technical Education and endeavors that students are equipped to meet the demands of today’s labor market.

Davina Reid brings 25 years of experience in Career and Technical Education (CTE), serving in roles such as Instructor, School Counselor, Virtual School Administrator and Career Readiness Coordinator. She has been instrumental in developing and updating CTE curricula and Programs of Study and has actively contributed to various CTE Advisory Boards. Davina established a pipeline for students to earn industry-recognized credentials and certifications within her school. Additionally, she has fostered community involvement by developing an Advisory Board with local businesses, colleges, and community-based organizations, while building strong relationships with industry professionals to provide students with work-based learning opportunities and employability skills training.

When not enjoying time with her adult children—a 20-year-old son and a 22-year-old daughter—Davina loves to reset with a good meal, book or movie. She is enthusiastic about traveling, live music, and volunteering as a certified Mediator with a local nonprofit. A proud graduate of Tennessee State University, Davina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism. She transitioned from the hospitality industry to education, following in her mother’s footsteps. She earned a Business Education certification from Lindenwood University and a Master’s in Education for School Counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Davina’s passion for Career and Technical Education (CTE) was ignited during her first teaching position at a CTE school, where she found fulfillment in helping students realize that college is not the only path to success—a strong foundation in CTE is equally viable. Creating CTE frameworks with P2C will provide students with a solid foundation to become career-ready.
